
CODE OF CONDUCT AND GAME RULES
CONDITIONS
All players, members and non-members alike, are to uphold competition standards throughout the competition. Bad language or untoward conduct will NOT be tolerated. All players are to be aware of this and the possible penalities, which could occur from inappropriate actions.
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

Must be 12 or over to play unless prior arrangements are made with organisers

EVERY player must sign the waiver prior to playing; by signing they will be registered to play and also acknoweldge that they will follow the code of conduct outlined above.
Please note; FAILURE TO OBSERVE THESE RULES could result in disqualification from the tournament
CHILD SUPERVISION
Parents, if you are bringing children, please make sure that they are supervised at all times, for their own safety and to keep the venue clean.
LATE STARTS
Players and Teams must be ready to play at the prescribed time or the game will be forfeited. Only registered players will be allowed to take the court
Game Rules:

Coin flip will decide first possession.

Substitions can only be made when a check ball is taking place. There will be no subs in the last minute of play unless a player cannot continue because of injury.

There is a 8 minute time limit on games. No time-outs are allowed. For Quarter finals, semis and the final, games will go for the same amount of time.

A made field goal counts for 1 point, and field goals made from behind the three point line count for 2 points. The referee will determine successful 3 point shots

There will be no possession arrow so in a tie ball situation the Defence will be awarded the ball

If a foul is called during the course of the game, the ball will be checked with the opponent and then play shall continue. (No three throws)

If there is a draw at the end of the 8 minutes in the 2 qualifying rounds only the winner will be determined by a 3 point shootout. Each player (3) for both teams get 1 shot each the team with the most made 3 point baskets win.

After obtaining possession of the ball following a score, missed shot (including an air ball), or rebound, the ball must be taken back to the "top of the key" extended or beyond the 3-point mark before a basket can be scored (top of the key = top of the circle). A player must plant two feet behind the 3 –point line. Failure to do so will result in the opponent gaining possession of the ball.

"Check" the ball with the opponent after each score.

After scoring, the opposing person gains possession of the ball.

The half-court line and all other boundary lines will be considered out of bounds.

On tournament day teams must have completed registration.

To qualify for final rounds a player must play in at least 1 game in round 1 or 2.

In case of an injury preventing game play where there is no registered sub to replace injured player the other team will advance in the tournament.
